By chance I looked out the back window and saw a Sharp-shinned Hawk fly by and make a sharp right over the tree line.

The next day I was training the dog in the yard with a fake duck decoy with scent  and noticed feathers on the ground. I walked around the yard and more feathers were found. Pigeon feathers of various sizes were dispersed about the yard.

Most likely this hawk is stalking the pigeons nearby and caught one!
