About

Introduction
As a photographic enthusiast I take photographs of many subjects but mostly of birds and nature in the Southeastern Massachusetts region.
AndysLens will contain mostly birds and also include my experiences of hiking, photography related subjects and some family. Postings are usually daily to weekly.
Not every photograph will be a home run. The adventure is finding different kinds of birds for the first time, trying to photograph them, and trying to get a better photo as the opportunity arises. How does one achieve this? I think this quote says it all, “…achieving the perfect picture is down to a mixture of skill, vision, originality, knowledge of nature and luck.” Therein lies the challenge.
My Equipment
- AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4D IF-ED: This is my main lens used with and without the AF-S Teleconverter TC-14E II.
- Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-D: The older 80-200mm non AF-S model. My friend purchased on eBay and I in turn bought it from him. An outstanding lens.
- Phoenix AF 100mm f/3.4 Macro Lens: Optically, an excellent lens. Inexpensive, outstanding value for the money.
- Nikon camera bodies
