Farm Pond
There is a small farmers pond at East Horseneck Road in Westport, Mass where there is a nesting pair of Mute Swans. One was on the nest and would from time to time build up the nest while the other fed. As I observed the swans, tree and barn  swallows came by and performed their acrobatic maneuvers in the sky.
The Tree Swallows and Barn Swallows flew inches above the waters surface and what surprised me about the swallows was they would actually dive just under the waters surface to capture insects. I tried to capture the event but the rockets of the sky proved extremely challenging.
They seemed to come in intervals of 15 minutes with each visit being only a short burst of activity. Each time I waited for their return and wanting them to get closer and in focus! I was there for three visits and after waiting for thirty minutes for a fourth visit that did not materialize, I left the area. It was interesting to watch and try to capture the event.
Naturally I would have preferred better images but I’ll take what I’m given. Despite that, I thought it interesting. Here is what I have.
